The hot and sizzling Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, former Miss World, seems to be the highest paid actress in India. The latest buzz is that Aishwarya who will be playing the lead role in Shankar’s ‘Robot’ opposite the Superstar Rajinikanth, will be a paid a huge amount of Rs. 6 crores. She touches the highest mark in terms of salary received by any actress in Indian history. ‘Robot’ is directed by Shankar and is the costliest film ever made in the subcontinent.

The budget of the film is said to hit Rs. 130 crores. The film will be made simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Aishwarya has not received such an amount as a salary even in a Hollywood film. The actress is currently getting Rs. 2 crores for a Hindi film and Rs. 4 crores for a Hollywood film. ‘Robot’ is expected to hit the floors in April 2008. The Tamil title for the film is expected to be announced before the shooting starts.
