‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ directed by Shyam Benegal is an out and out comedy movie. The cast of the movie includes Shreyas Talpade, Amrita Rao, Ravi Kishan, Ila Arun, Divya Dutta, Yashpal Sharma, Rajeshwari Sachdev and Ravi Jhankal. Chetan Motiwalla and Ronnie Screwvala have produced the movie ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ and Shantanu Moitra has compose the background music for the movie.

Story of the ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ revolves around Mahadev ( Shreyas Talpade) who is one among the educated people in a village called Sajjanpur. Mahadev earns money by writing letters for the uneducated people of Sajjanpur and he is very popular among the people in Sajjanpur because of his way of writing convincing letters.

Since Mahadev is good at writing letters he starts manipulating the letters for his own benefits. The story goes on and it is a complete entertainer. Initially ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ was titled ‘Mahadev Ka Sajjanpur’. Amrita Rao plays the role of Kamala in the movie. Kamala is Mahadev’s childhood sweetheart, who in the movie is married to someone else.

The four names for whom victory has become a practice are none other than Vipul Shah, Anees Bazmee, Akshay Kumar and the gorgeous Katrina Kaif. The basic rules to watch hardcore entertainment is just don’t look for logic, if at all you are looking out for something, then you won’t be able to enjoy the movie. Singh Is King falls under this category.

Anees Bazmee’s films has high entertainment quotient. The plot line may be paper-thin, but Singh is King works because it delivers what it promises: Full entertainment!

Bazmee has the gift of making immensely watchable movies. Singh is King isn’t a comedy flick entirety. Comedy, romance, action and drama, the whole thing is well coordinated in just 2 hours and 10 minutes here.

Lakhan Singh alias Lucky (Sonu Sood) is the King of the Australian underworld, accompanied by his friends which are played by Javed Jaffrey, Neha Dhupia, Manoj Pahwa, Yashpal Sharma, Kamal Chopra and Sudhanshu Pande. Far away, in a small village in Punjab, where Lucky was born, there exists someone more tarnished than him person – Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar).

The village is fed up of Happy Singh’s nobility, which has resulted in a number of hilariously devastating situations. Out of desperation, they decide to send him on a long trip that will keep him out of the village for a while!

The happy-go-lucky bumpkin, taking his mission a bit too seriously, embarks on his journey, accompanied by his friend, Rangeela (Om Puri), who hates Happy for dragging him into it.

The high point of his journey is his chance meeting with Sonia (Katrina Kaif), with whom he falls in love, but upon reaching his destination, things take a uncertain turn as he runs into a series of comic misadventures, leaving him penniless. He is fortunate to find warmth and affection in an elderly lady (Kirron Kher).

Anees Bazmee has a flair for writing great entertainers that work big time. If you’ve loved No Entry and Welcome, you’d love Singh is Kinng too.

Pritam’s music is already popular. Bhootni Ke, Jee Karda and the title track stand out, while ‘Teri Ore’ is easy on the nerves. Ben Nott and Sanjay Gupta’s cinematography is top notch. On the whole, Singh is King lives up to the publicity and hoopla.
