The 57th Idea Filmfare Awards was held on yesterday night in Mumbai in a grand manner. Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan were awarded as a best actor and actress. Ranbir Kapoor as for his wonderful performance in ‘Rockstar’ and Vidya Balan for her bold performance in ‘Dirty Picture’ brought them a Filmfare award. The function was hosted by Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor.

The movie ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ has Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. The producers of this movie has decided to release the movie on October 1, 2010 instead of September 24. The sudden change is due to the verdict on the Ayodhya issue to be heard on the 24th.

We all know that on the same date ‘Endhiran’ is also releasing. So both the movies are in competition with one another. When asked about this, the producers said the movie ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ is in a different kind to ‘Robot’ and have its own audience.

Soon after Ranbir’s break up with Deepika Padukone, he was linked with Katrina Kaif. The much talked about Ranbir-Deepika relationship came to a sudden end. What happened exactly? Sources close to the actor say that Ranbir showed interest in sexy lady Katrina while working on the movie Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. It seems he also gifted a pendant to her after the success of the movie. Katrina, on her part, tried wrapping up this thing in the media.

Sources reveal dusky girl Deepika came to know about Ranbir’s dilly-dallying with Katrina and kept a guy to spy on his activities. Soon after this pendant-news, she confirmed Ranbir’s secret affair with Katrina and ended her relationship with him.

Lately, Katrina has been planning to move her house near Kapoor’s home. She has also bonded well with Ranbir’s parents. This has strengthened the rumours about Rabir and Katrina relationship.

Anything happen in the tinsel town. All we can do is wait for an official announcement and bless the lucky pair!

“Bachna Ae Haseeno” starring Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Minissha Lamba is directed by Siddharth Anand.

“Bachna Ae Haseeno” is another product of Yashraj productions. “Bachna Ae Haseeno” is a movie made for the youth. “Bachna Ae Haseeno” is a romantic movie about a young chap (Ranbir) who falls in love with 3 gorgeous ladies at different stages of his life. Ranbir, a flippant character, betrays the first two women only to be rejected by the third (Deepika Padukone). Ranbir first falls in love when he is in Higher Secondary school in the year 1996. The second time he falls in love when he starts working in a company in Mumbai in the year 2002 and the third time his love episode takes place in Australia.

The young chap Ranbir breaks the heart of first 2 girls so badly and he never understands it until his third girlfriend breaks his heart and makes him suffer the pain of an unreciprocated love affair.

The movie begins with a guy going back to his flashback and taking us to beautiful Switzerland where he had fallen in love for the first time with the gorgeous Minissha Lamba. The director has tried very hard to show us that it was actually 1996 but somehow the 18-year old charm is missing in the actors.

The second love affair takes place in 2002 with Bipasha Basu. Ranbir is shown working for Microsoft’s gaming section. Here, the guy looks younger while Bipasha looks older. It is a kind of mismatch. But here, there are few comedy scenes and the performance is stunningly real.

In 2007, Ranbir is in Sydney where he meets Deepika Padukone. There is indeed some kind of a sudden, love-at-first-sight-spark between Ranbir and Deepika.  But the directorial failure to use the off-screen chemistry between Ranbir and Deepika is very disappointing.

The movie seems quite ‘ok-types’ in the first half but as it reaches the interval, you predict what-next on the screen -  the story is churned out in a very expected manner. The music is superb, especially two songs, the classic Bachna Ae Haseeno and Khuda Jaane, really stand out. Cinematography is fantastic; the locales of Australia and Italy have been beautifully captured. On the acting front, Ranbir looks pretty good though and overall he has done a good job. Minissha again goes overboard like Ranbir in first story but later it is all good. Bipasha despite of looking bit older in front of Ranbir is the best of the lot. Deepika too is good.

Overall, it seems that “Bachna Ae Haseeno would do good business. It maybe liked by few while few might not like it.

These are definitely the electrifying times for music coming out of Bollywood. Just recently we had Singh Is Kinng with a bang and making a big impression. Now Bachna Ae Haseeno, too, has created a huge splatter all over. This one is a solid winner from the word goes and would range greater heights over the weeks to come.

Shilpa Rao gets a big break with Khuda Jaane where she pairs up with the man of all seasons, KK. Unlike Pritam, who always ropes in KK for at least one song in each of his albums, the duo Vishal-Shekhar have believed in using him sparsely and asking him to come behind the mike only in case of something exceptional. Well, Khuda Jaane is indeed an exceptional song and, though it may seem quite good in the first couple of listening, it takes a brilliant turn once you have heard a few more times.

A core Indian melody that has its beauty lying at the point where KK gets into a high pitch. Khuda Jaane is a number that is an instant chartbuster material. Also notable is the way Shilpa compliments her co-singer with her unique voice that sets her apart from her colleagues. A exciting number that has a lot going for it in it’s ‘revisited remix version’ by Abhijeet Nalani, which takes the number from tranquil islands to a upmarket discotheque, Khuda Jaane is a winner for the real and reel life couple of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone on whom the song has been picturised.

Lucky Boy is a club track that is exceptional in the way Sunidhi Chauhan and Raja Hassan . While Raja provides a Punjabi folk feel to the number, Lucky Boy inherently stays on to be a club track with Bipasha Basu radiating all the liveliness. This is one track that has a distinct Vishal-Shekhar feel to it and if you have liked the kind of sound which was heard in Mind Blowing Maahiya, then you will like Lucky Boy because it has a much more classy feel to it.

Yet another club number, though with an added zing and punch, comes in the form of Aahista Aahista from singers like Lucky Ali and Shreya Ghoshal. Well, this one has its own calm feel to it but it’s the way the number has been orchestrated makes all the difference.

Lastly comes the trump card of the album. The first of its kind attempt in a Bollywood song, an original number has been fused with a current sound. Years back Bachna Ae Haseeno was a superb number that saw the coming together of RD Burman, Kishore Kumar and Majrooh Sultanpuri. Well, Vishal-Shekhar adds much more and roped in Kishore Kumar’s son Sumit Kumar to sing his own version.

Bachna Ae Haseeno is the ‘paisa-vasool‘ moment of the album as the fusion is truly flawless and makes one just put on the number in a repeat mode and forget about the rest. Vishal Dadlani writes and sings the rap that compliments the mood of the song and makes Bachna Ae Haseeno a number which by itself would guarantee a great opening for the film when it arrives on 15th August!

Ranbir Kapoor’s Sister Riddhima Kapoor and the daughter of the well known actors Neetu and Rishi Kapoor has launched her label for women’s clothing called ‘ARA’. Riddhima Kapoor is married to a Dehli based business man. Riddhima said that the clothes she designs for women will make them look hot and sensual and at the same time it won’t be vulgar.

Her collections are displayed in “In Focus” a celebrity theme at the F-Bar and Lounge.

ARA, the six-month old brand is a Persian word which means ornament.

Riddhima started the label with her friend Devyani just as a leisure pursuit and there was no official launch. But they had a set clientele and were very happy catering to them till they recognized that the popularity of their range was going places.
