Suseenthiran’s ‘Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai’ is a lovely village story with Mallayapuram villagers who had a belief that their rain god will bless them with wonderful things after the festival of Lord Azhagarsami. The festival is celebrated in a grandiose way by taking the Azhagarsami on a wooden horse. The story becomes interesting when the horse goes missing. The whole village suffers in poverty and drought. So some of the villagers go out in search of the missing horse. Luckily they find a real horse and the thought of bringing it back to their village to use for the Azhagarsami festival comes to mind. Then comes Azhagarsami(Appukutty) who lives in near by Aagamalai village, who finds his horse missing.

Azhagarsami(Appukutty) is about to get married to Rani (Saranya Mohan) and uses his horse to earn for his living. He goes in search of his horse to the Mallayapuram village where he finds his white horse which is the one. The villagers agree to give back his horse after the festival. But here comes the twist, something goes wrong. what will happen next?? Does Appukutty get back his horse?? Will he will marry Saranya Mohan?? What happened to that wooden horse??? this mystery resides in the rest of the story

The movie is quite entertaining with its mystery and comedy blending well, thanks to the great Job carried out by the director. The movie is suitable for all ages. The music by Illayaraja is mesmerizing and one of the highlights of the movie. The movie has only three songs though. Appukutty’s performance is awesome and nobody else can replace his role. He has done an applauding job by becoming the character himself. Saranya’s performance was no lesser. Cinematography by Theni Eashwar and editing by Kasi Viswanathan’s is good throughout the movie. Suseenthiran has come up with the best screenplay and portrayed the innocence of the village in an effective way. Mallepuvvu will be Bhumika Chawla’s latest movie. Murali Krishna will be playing opposite the gorgeous Bhumika. The story of the movie is focused on Bhumika’s character. Mallepuvvu is expected to hit the silver screen on September 11, 2008. Mallepuvvu is directed and produced by V.Samudra. Mallepuvvu will be Murali Krishna’s debut movie.

The script for Mallepuvvu is written by the famous director cum designer Ramesh Varma. The background music for the movie is scored by Isai Gnani Illayaraja. The music maestro has asked the permission of the director cum producer V.Samudra to produce Mallepuvvu in Tamil as he has been very impressed by the script of the movie. Bhumika has agreed to the Tamil version too, if she is permitted to remake Mallepuvvu in Hindi.
