‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ directed by Shyam Benegal is an out and out comedy movie. The cast of the movie includes Shreyas Talpade, Amrita Rao, Ravi Kishan, Ila Arun, Divya Dutta, Yashpal Sharma, Rajeshwari Sachdev and Ravi Jhankal. Chetan Motiwalla and Ronnie Screwvala have produced the movie ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ and Shantanu Moitra has compose the background music for the movie.

Story of the ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ revolves around Mahadev ( Shreyas Talpade) who is one among the educated people in a village called Sajjanpur. Mahadev earns money by writing letters for the uneducated people of  Sajjanpur and he is very popular among the people in Sajjanpur because of his way of writing convincing letters.

Since Mahadev is good at writing letters he starts manipulating the letters for his own benefits. The story goes on and it is a complete entertainer. Initially ‘Welcome To Sajjanpur’ was titled ‘Mahadev Ka Sajjanpur’. Amrita Rao plays the role of Kamala in the movie. Kamala is Mahadev’s childhood sweetheart, who in the movie is married to someone else.

The beautiful actress Amrita Rao is very choosy about her roles in films that have been coming her way. She is acting in the upcoming film ‘My Name is Anthony Gonzalves’ opposite a new comer Nikhil Dwivedi. She is very much excited to play the role of an assistant director who falls for an upcoming actor. Currently Amrita is shooting for a sports film titled ‘Victory’ that revolves around cricket. She is acting opposite Harman Baweja, who is the son of Harry Baweja.

The actress has chosen to play a comic role in the mock comedy Mahadev directed by Shyam Benegal. Amrita says that her long pending wish has been fulfilled by the offer from the legendary director to act in his direction. She was longing to act under his direction after she saw the film ‘Zubeida’. Amrita Rao acted in a Telugu film which went on to become a great hit. However she says that she has no plans of moving to south. Amrita will also be acting in a thriller film ‘Shortcut’ directed by Neeraj Vohra.
