The Univercell Vijay Award 2009 was a grand success. The Nehru indoor stadium was packed with people and it was a star studded show. The event was attended by popular figures Tamil film industry. The show has got its reputation as people are selecting their favorite hero, heroine, music director, director, film and much more categories.
The Rasigan Express vehicle traveled all over Tamil Nadu collecting the votes from the people for their favorite stars. The show started in the evening of June 13, 2009. The actor, actress and film personalities who attended the show include Kamal Haasan his two lovely daughters, Gouthami and her daughter, Sivakumar was present with his family. Suriya and Jyothika grabbed the attention of the people. Karthi also joined them to the stadium.
