The Bengali cinema has giving us some of the finest directors. Be it Bimal Roy and Guru Dutt during the B&W era or Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen and Gautam Ghosh etc. at a later phase, these are some of the names that always sparkle in the chronicles of Indian cinema.
Rituparno Ghosh among the new directors is indisputably the brightest panorama. The Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh has a extraordinary relation with the Bachchan family. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with Raincoat and Chokar Bali and Abhishek Bachchan in Antarmahal have given some of their finest performances under Ghosh’s truncheon.
On September 12th 2008, Director Rituparno’s movie The Last Year will be released. This movie is being produced under the banner Planman Motion Productions. This movie has the megastar “Big B” in prominent role. The other cast of the movie are Arjun Rampal and the gorgeous Preity Zinta. After winning the National award for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black, Big B is all set to win another national award.
