Amu DVD Unveiled!
The national award winning Amu, directed by Shonali Bose, is based on the Sikh Riots of 1984 and it was unveiled on DVD by Bollywood star Aamir Khan at Landmark stores. The DVD of the film, which will not be telecasted in Indian Television, was released by Excel Home Videos.
The event was attended by the director and the lead pair of the movie Konkana Sen Sharma, Beda Pain the producer, Yashpal Sharma (actor) and M.N.Kapasi (MD, Excel Home Videos).

Amu was premiered at the Berlin and Toronto Film Festivals in 2005. Since then, it has won numerous awards and accolades including two National Film Awards in the Best Feature Film and Best Director (English Language) Categories.
Amu is a story about Kaju (Konkana Sen Sharma), a 21 year old Indian American woman who comes to India to visit her family. Kaju is blocked at every turn when she starts asking simple questions about her past. Aided by Kabir, a young man who is deeply attracted to her quest, she embarks on an unstoppable journey to seek the truth.
She soon learns that the genocide against the Sikhs in the capital city over 20 years ago, might hold the key to her mysterious origins.
